At Driftless Run, our Black Cherry Burl wood comes directly from our woodland forest, each project is intuitively inspired, with an intention to both reconnect with nature and heal through loving self compassion (spirit, mind, body).

What is consistent is each piece starts with minimal requirement in the form of a question, an intention and deep love for our natural world.

This specific piece was born out out of the question.

Can I make a human looking molar, wood replicate? Indeed, it did work and that resulting molar, my studio donated to support a veteran fund raising event.

This Saber Tooth was also born in that same shop session.

The black cherry wood burl starting material was personally harvested from the woodland then prepared through trial and error to find it's current form, it's current shape.

Each piece embodies nature's spirit, this one is meant to be held.
